Radio General

Radio General was established in 1957 and broadcasts to patients in Warrington Hospital and online, 24 hours a day. Programmes include requests, items of local interest, Outside Broadcasts and commentaries on Warrington Wolves and Widnes Vikings matches. The Warrington rugby commentaries started in 1953.
Approximately 20 people are involved in the day-to-day running of the station. Volunteers are always needed; you should contact the station directly via email if you are interested in joining.

We have recently celebrated 65 years of our music request service along with 70 years of our rugby commentary service. Both services formally came together in 1976 to form the present charity.
